The Art Of Falling Over
Below is a selection of work relevant to the project in development “The Art Of Falling Over”.
Le Croisement (2023) - My final piece from my study at Ecole Jacques Lecoq 2021-2023, devised as an ensemble under my direction. This illustrates the style of physical comedy combining clown, absurd and high energy Commedia-style performance.
Scripts for Le Croisement and Termination Notice (2024) - I am hoping to develop a number of scenarios in the style of Le Croisement, centering on the world of espionage, building to a full-length play called “Counter-Intelligence”. Termination Notice is another scenario I am developing, and the script for Le Croisement features an improved conclusion.
The Hungry God (2021) - A short film shot in a single take on 8mm film (in the New Forest) for the Straight8 competition. Again, showing the approach I wish to take to physical comedy, combining the techniques of silent era film with dark and mysterious themes.
The Unseen Hour - Sciatica (2019) - An episode of The Unseen Hour which I wrote, produced, directed and performed in. This episode was performed at the London Podcast Festival.
DROLL (2019) - Performed for the University of Chicago as part of their programme on censorship.
A leather Commedia dell’Arte mask (2023) - This is the mask that I made as part of the mask-making course at the Sartori museum in Italy in 2023. Since then I have continued exploring and developing my own approach to theatrical mask-making, and have been commissioned to supply masks for theatrical training. My mask-making enterprise, False Faces, is part of the New Forest Marque.
Over My Dead Body! (2015) - a short film which I co-wrote, co-directed and acted in.
Le Croisement - final performance at Lecoq, Paris 2023
The Hungry God - a short film shot on 8mm film for the Straight8 competition 2021.
Sciatica - The Unseen Hour. Performance of an episode of the long running audiodrama live radio theatre podcast for the London Podcast Festival 2019
Performance of DROLL by The Owle Schreame Theatre Company for University Of Chicago in 2019.
A half-mask, designed and hand-made in leather at the Sartori workshop in Italy in 2023.
Over My Dead Body! - A screwball noir short film made in 2015.
